An Evening On Black Power

To mark Black History Month and this year's theme of 'Standing Firm in Power and Pride', we’re partnering with Black Psychotherapy to engage in a transformative conversation on how we can build, share, and sustain Black power as a pathway to liberation.

The evening begins with a powerful panel unpacking the many dimensions of power, from community self-determination and abolitionist organising to creative resistance and economic autonomy. Together, we will reflect on the historical roots of Black Power movements and how those legacies inform today’s struggles for justice, healing, and freedom.

Following the panel, we’ll move into a community discussion where everyone is invited to speak, listen, and imagine. What does Black power mean in our local context? How do we cultivate it without reproducing harm? What does solidarity look like across generations, genders, and geographies?

Expect a night of deep conversation, radical joy, and collective dreaming, a space to honour our ancestors and shape the futures they envisioned.

Open to all Black community members and allies committed to liberation.
