Join us for a critical and intimate investigation of beauty as both a personal practice and a system of power. This workshop asks: Is beauty truly empowering, or is it a subtle mechanism of control? Do we choose it freely, or does a visually obsessed culture demand our compliance?
Our conversation will focus on the concept of Aesthetic Labour: the often-invisible, unpaid work involved in meeting socially constructed standards of appearance.
Participants will reflect on their own relationships to beauty whilst examining the blurred lines between self-expression and societal pressure.
So come as you are! Bring your questions, your wounds, your wonder. This is an invitation to peel back the layers and imagine beauty on our own terms.
